I'm thinking about sending these out as Valentines cards.  What do you think?

So the Pope today in his Christmas address had the nerve to say that mankind still needs religion because technology hasn't ended suffering.  How ironic is it that the Catholic Church, which has reigned supreme for over two thousand years, thinks that they are the answer to all human suffering.  I won't mention the Crusades and holy wars which have killed millions during that time, or the Church's attempts to block progress or any changes that would mean less power for them.  I won't mention the advancements in science and medicine that have allowed billions to survive things as simple as the flu which used to wipe out entire towns.  What I will bring up is the ideological arrogance of this statement and the rest of the Church's retoric in a time where the Church is involved in scandal after scandal and doing nothing to benefit mankind.  How can you say "suffering must end", a statement that everyone agrees with, and use that to justify your existence when your very actions show your impotence to address it?  Hypocrites.
